University of Raparin won 3 Scholarships for the 1st round of Erasmus Mundus- MARHABA

For the 1st round of Erasmus Mundus- MARHABA scholarship program, University of Raparin – won 3 Scholarships, 1 PhD (34 Months), 1 MA (18 Months), and 1 Academic staff exchange (1 Month). Successful candidates will be notified within 1 week.
In order to carry out the final selection of applicants for the 1st round of Erasmus Mundus- MARHABA scholarship program, Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali, President of University of Sulaimani, Iraq country director for MARHABA program and member of MARHABA Selection Committee, attended the final Selection Meeting of first round of MARHABA Project in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

The members of MARHABA Selection Committee were representative of the Coordinator University (University of Santiago de Compostela), Iraq country director for MARHABA program (President of University of Sulaimani), Iran country director for MARHABA program (President of Tehran University of Medical Sciences), 2 representatives from European universities: Universidad de Almería (Spain) and University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Bulgaria), plus an External Evaluator.
During the Selection Meeting of MARHABA project which took place in Santiago de Compostela on 29th and 30th April 2015, the members of MARHABA Selection Committee assessed all the applications and selected most suitable candidates based on the requirements and pre-set criteria, from each participating university fairly.
EU provides 3M Euro for the MARHABA Project between 18 Participating universities. The objective of MARHABA project directly corresponds to the development of further collaboration among EU and Asian Institutions for sending and hosting mobility of talented students and staff, enhancement capacity, transparency and employability as well as skills and qualification of institutions and individuals.
The MARHABA project promotes 125 flows of students and staff among EU and Iran and Iraq in a collaborative framework which includes a balanced representation of 9 Universities in the concerned Third Countries (5 in Iran, 4 in Kurdistan-region Iraq), and another 9 Universities in Europe (Spain, France, Germany, Italy, UK, Portugal, Poland and Bulgaria). From the 125 scholarships, 41 is allocated for the Kurdistan region universities including 16 for the first round, shared as follow:
University Sulaimani – won 4 Scholarships, 2 PhD (34 Months) and 2 Academic staff exchange (1 Month).
University of Halabja - won 3 Scholarships, 1 PhD (34 Months) and 2 MA (18 Months)
Koya University - won 6 Scholarships, 4 BA (6-10 Months), 1 Postdoc (6 Months) and 1 Academicstaff exchange (1 Month).
University of Raparin – won 3 Scholarships, 1 PhD (34 Months), 1 MA (18 Months), and 1 Academic staff exchange (1 Month).
Successful candidates will be notified within 1 week.
 
The MARHABA project offer mobility programs for the duration of 6 and 10 months for Undergraduate studies, 6 and 18 months for Masters, 6 – 34 months for Doctorate, 6 months Post doctorate and 1 month Academic Staff exchange. The European universities participating in this program are:
